What is a "Hidden History"?

Every place people live has histories. Some of these are 'official' and often presented to validate current policies or politics. Besides these official histories other histories are always back there somewhere but not mentioned, often because they do not support political agendas of those with agency. These untold stories are Hidden Histories.

With every public intervention www.TangoIntervention.org has revealed some aspect of Hidden History in each intervention location. For the interventions in Phnom Penh, Cambodia the website revealed hidden aspects of misguided French colonial policy in the 1930's and related these to similar mistakes being made in Phnom Penh now by global industrial powers in concert with local politicians and developers. In Tango Intervention Vienna the website pointed to issues of barriers and passages related to invasion and immigration in Austria over the last 1000 years.
